In August 1989 we began designing, building, and testing our auto repair shop software.
A team of 35 Automotive Expert® repair shops did the initial testing and refining of our basic system. Over the next five years an additional 150 shops were added to our existing group of shops in the Tampa Bay area.
Over 200,000 invoices were collected, studied and analyzed to arrive at the base times contained within our labor guides. In many cases we actually inspect the car to determine the proper labor time for any particular job.
In April 1994 we released the Real-Time Labor Guide® on a national basis.
The labor times reflected in the Real-Time Labor Guide® are the culmination of 14 years of research and testing from actual field tests. We continue to update and refine the labor guide with information from the field. Our team of experts inspect the new cars each year to improve system accuracy.
We currently have over 1400 shops participating in our labor time Accuracy Bounty Program alone, and thousands of independent auto repair shops are using the Real-Time Labor Guide® everyday.
